Christine Takes Iron Chef with Roast Beef and
Sun Dried Tomato Mayo Panini

(Charlottesville, Virginia) –
After a 6 year dry spell Christine was crowned the 2008 Iron Chef. This year’s
cooking theme was the panini. In Italian, panini is a term for a grilled
sandwich that can include any creative combination of ingredients such as
vegetables, meats and cheese layered between two pieces of fresh baked bread.
The three Lange Chefs brought their best and the day of cooking was eventful as
usual.
A judging panel of 15 decided
the winner. Christine scored 130 points, Jennifer 121 points and Steven 110
points. Comments on the scoring cards clearly highlighted Christine’s superior
offering.
The Wiggins and Connolly
families traveled in from Richmond, VA to join the festivities, and members of
the Sowell family traveled in from Alexandria and Warrenton, VA. The following

Sourdough Bread, Deli Sliced Roast Beef, White Cheddar Cheese, Mayonnaise (Sun
Dried Tomatoes, Horseradish, Ketchup, Garlic, Cayenne Pepper), Red Onion,
Pickled Sweet Cherry Peppers, Red Pepper Flakes.

Served with Chips and Speared Pickle Sweet Cherry Peppers

Tenderloin and Apple Panini with Crème Fraiche
Ingredients:
Puff Pastry, Pork Tenderloin Fried in Hard Cider and Cider Vinegar, Caramelized
Apples, Dipping Sauce (Shallots, Bay Leaf and Crème Fraiche and Ciders)

Rectangular Plate with Separate Sauce Dish and Arugula
